CNC Turning & Milling of Steel Collar for a Power Generation Application

One of our frequent customers asked us to produce a custom collar for rotating equipment that would be used in a power generation application. Their specifications required that the collar measure 1” thick, 3” OD and .9692” - .9697” I.D. Using both turning and milling operations, we provided all programming, setup, and final production runs. The parts were composed of 416T steel and precision machined on our Okuma Cadet lathe and HAAS VF4 mill. The collar was continuously inspected during and after production in order to ensure all customer requirements were met and complied with ¼-20-UNC-3B standards.
We delivered the collar on-time and within budget while preventing any sacrifice to quality. The customer was impressed with our work and continues to rely on us for the part each year. Our 4,000 sq. ft. facility provides extensive machining capabilities to customers in multiple industries.
