CNC Milling & Anodizing of an Aluminum Finger Base for Packaging & Shrink Wrapping Systems

Our facility is equipped with advanced milling and turning equipment that can consistently produce complex geometries and tight tolerances. We have experience in an array of metals including aluminum, plastics, bronze, brass, copper, and steel all of which can be machined to the same high precision.
A long time customer required a finger base that would be used for various packaging and shrink wrapping systems. The customer’s specifications called out the use of 6061-T6 aluminum for the project due to its good mechanical properties and lower costs. With approximately 2,000 units per year required, our team quickly found a way to maximize output by developing a fixture that accommodated 16 parts per machine run. The fixture was mounted to our HAAS Mini Mill and significantly reduced our production time. Emphasizing quality control, each set of parts were inspected during and after every run. All of our work was done in accordance with RoHS compliance requirements and adhered to the latest industry standards. Each part was then subjected to a hard anodization process in order to promote hardening and surface protection.
Thanks to the quick programming, setup, and production strategy employed by our staff, we easily met our customer’s timeline and price requirements.
